About Kaudo
I’m Viliam—Vilo to friends—but most people online know me as Kaudo, a nickname I picked up in high school.
By day, I’m a product manager at a telecom company. I’m also a husband and dad to three sons, now grown men, and the human to Eby, our black cat. With a forest just behind our home, I spend much of my free time trail running.

Building things online since 1999
Over more than 25 years, I’ve created around 250 online projects: web directories, networks of e-commerce sites built around Amazon’s affiliate program, niche blogs, and web applications. Each one taught me something about making useful things for people on the web.
Today, I blog at Kaudo.org, explore website monetization and estimate site earnings at SeeYouGuys.com, and write about the Internet Archive at Smartial.net. I still enjoy learning, experimenting, and making new projects.
Why I built BAATLE
On a crowded launch directory, a project can get buried soon after launch. BAATLE gives makers another way to get noticed: put a project into a thoughtfully designed battle, compare it with a relevant alternative, and ask clear questions.
Visitors choose the project they prefer for each question. Their answers give makers useful feedback to consider as they decide what to improve next.
